Lust Stories | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Anupama Chopra Film Companion In Lust Stories, directors Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar deconstruct the splendor, complexity and chaos of lust. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 28, 2018 Full Review Lust Stories | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Swetha Ramakrishnan Firstpost Bollywood's sexual awakening (not to be confused with sexualisation and/or male gaze) has been a long time coming. In that regard, Lust Stories is a step in the right direction. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 10, 2023 Full Review Lust Stories | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Poulomi Das Arré What makes Akhtar's short groundbreaking is its unflinching articulation of the hypocrisies of the entitled middle class. Mar 11, 2019 Full Review Lust Stories | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Rahul Desai Film Companion Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of this short-film anthology is that four Indian directors - Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar - have accurately interpreted lust as the forbidden emotion. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 27, 2018 Full Review Lust Stories | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Radhika Menon Decider Hopefully Lust Stories will educate and force discussion in the still-maturing public sphere of India and its diaspora around the world. But if nothing else, it showcases Indian filmmaking at its best. Jul 16, 2018 Full Review Lust Stories | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Proma Khosla Mashable Lust Stories flies by in a blur of character and emotion, but the stories are out there, and the conversations will continue. Nita J Melodramatic. First one was the worst as the acting was also terrible and artificial. The second one also casting was bad and acting equally so. Just didn't feel authentic. Third one the acting was better and the story had some suspense but the ending was ridiculous and unbelievable. Don't want to see the last one! Had enough. Overall it was trash. Forced myself to see it as people said it was interesting. Rated according to each director.Anurag Kashyap - 7/10Zoya Akhtar - 10/10Dibakar Banerjee - 8/10Karan Johar - 4/10 Rated 3.5/5 Stars • Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Really enjoyed this anthology. The Dibakar Bannerjee story was probably my favourite, given the twist it introduces very early on in the story, and the unexpected character beats it takes right until the excellent ending. The acting was also great in this short, with Sanjay Kapoor's performance being the biggest of pleasant surprises.-The Zoya Akhtar story was beautiful and subtle, and probably had the best, most realistic dialogues of the four shorts. The central premise does feel like the sort of thing that would happen more in an indy film than in real life, which is the only thing preventing it from being my favourite of the lot. Kudos to Bhumi Pednekar for bringing such a sense of sad longing to her role.- Karan Johar's film was probably the most lustful, and certainly the most entertaining of the lot. Neha Dhupia leaves you wanting more from a spunky cameo, Kiara Advani manages to strike the difficult combination of horny innocence, and Vicky Kaushal is just a riot.-Anurag Kashyap surprisingly delivers the weakest film out of the four directors, with choppy editing distracting from the story. It also strains credibility that Radhika Apte's character would lose her mind over Akash Thosar's. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review prateek s We always measure love in terms of profit or loss. We never express our feelings; at the right time. Because we don't know when the right time is. And we end up feeling empty. f*ck that. Be better. Be with the one who loves you. Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Nome of the stories are intriguing. The actors in all the four stories have done complete justice to the part thry play. But sadly this doesnâ(TM)t help the weak storyline which fails to leave an impact.
